Srinagar DSP Ayub Pandith lynching: Main accused killed in encounter, 20 other arrested, informs IG Kashmir
Srinagar: Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sajid Ahmad Gilkar, who assumed a key part in affecting the mob to lynch DSP Ayub Pandith, was killed by security forces in Budgam area on July 12, the Jammu and Kashmir Police affirmed on Monday.
Tending to a question and answer session, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muneer Khan affirmed that 20 people have been captured regarding Pandith lynching case.
The IG said that amid the examination, the police found that four rapscallions, including Gilkar, assumed a noteworthy part in actuating the crowd against Pandith.
Uncovering insights about the terrible lynching episode, the IG stated, that when the group was leaving the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta zone, many were bringing trademarks up for previous Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa, and some were get ready to welcome separatist pioneer Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
"This is when Gilkar assumed a major part in actuating the mob against DSP Ayub Pandith," Khan included.

DSP Pandith was stripped and stoned to death by a crowd outside the memorable Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta range of downtown Srinagar on June 22.
The battered group of agent administrator Mohammad Ayub Pandit was recouped outside the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta region of the Old City.
Gilkar was included in projectile assaults on the CRPF at Nowhatta on April 22, Khanyar police party on April 30 and SafaKadal CRPF camp on June 21.
