Bangladesh cricket fans on Tuesday hacked Virat Kohli's website to protest against Liton Das's dismissal in the Asia Cup 2018 final.
Liton was given out after being stumped by MS Dhoni off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav in the 41st over which left Bangladesh reeling at 188 for 6 and they eventually ended up with 222 on the board after their openers Liton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz had put on 120 runs for the first wicket.
The match went on till the last ball with India winning by 3 wickets to clinch their seventh Asia Cup title.
Das's stumping was the talking point after the match as replays from multiple angles showed that his foot was probably just on the line and it was very difficult to prove otherwise, and as the rule suggests the belongs to the umpire.
After venting out their frustration on Twitter following Das's dismissal, Bangladeshi fans went one step ahead by hacking into the website of the Indian captain, who wasn't even a part of the team in this Asia Cup.
"Dear ICC, didn't cricket use to be a gentlemen's game? Shouldn't every team have fair rights? Please explain how it was out? If you don't officially apologize to the whole world and take actions against the umpire then get ready to be hacked every single time you recover the site.
"And my fellow Indian brothers and sisters, we mean no disrespect to you guys. Please think about it. How would you feel if injustice was done with your team? Every single national team should be treated equally in the game," read the message from the hacking group Cyber Security and Intelligence (CSI).
Fans had also expressed their anger on Twitter after the game and labelled the ICC as Indian Cricket Council following the defeat.
This is not the first time that an umpiring decision in a India-Bangladesh match has led Bangladeshi fans to vent out their anger at the International Cricket Council (ICC).
During the 2015 World Cup as well, Rohit Sharma was caught off a waist-high full toss which was called a 'no-ball'. Rohit went onto score a match-winning century as India knocked Bangladesh out in the quarter-finals in Melbourne.
Bangladeshi fans didn't take that in good spirit and blamed the Indians for buying off umpires and expressed their frustration on various social media platforms.
Since then, there has always been a sense of anger among the Bangladeshi fans and it gave rise to a strong rivalry between the two sides.
