Virat Kohli turns designer, launches sneaker in association with Puma

Virat Kohli who has impressed the nation with his cricketing skills, is now experimenting in the realm of fashion design. Kohli launched a pair of sneakers designed by him in collaboration with Puma. The India captain has been associated with the sportswear brand as its brand ambassador since last year.

He took to social media on Friday to thank everyone for the love bestowed on his 'very first sneaker'.
Called the Basket Classic one8, the sneaker is priced at Rs 5,999. The design reflects a mix of Virat's cricketing sensibilities with that of Puma's classic 'basket silhouette.' The white colourway is a homage to the all-white ensemble of test cricket, while the gold leather upper is inspired by the stitching on a cricket ball.

“Cricket is a big part of my style,” said Virat, “so I reinvented (Puma's Basket range) with elements of (cricket) that reflect in the design of the shoe.''

“It's the very first sneaker that I have designed and it is simple...and is perfect for any occasion—just the way I love it!'' Kohli added in the post.

Kohli has plans to expand his athleisure brand, one8, into more sportswear, with an active involvement in the designing process. He had launched his casual wear brand, Wrogn, in 2014.
