New Delhi: The wrestling world was dazed on Monday as superstar Jinder Mahal, of Indian-origin, enlisted a shock victory over veteran Randy Orton.

The 30-year-old rocked his opponent to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the advancement's Backlash occasion.

All the while, Mahal, who is a Canadian national, has turned into the second wrestler of Indian plummet to win a world heavyweight title.

The Great Khali had won the now-old World Heavyweight Championship in 2007.

Mahal turned into WWE's 50th Champion as he conveyed Orton to the floor, sending Indian observers ballistic while yelling "India number one" from the editorial corners.

"I'm exceptionally pleased to speak to India in the WWE. It does right by me that I'm speaking to every one of them on such a major scale and I trust I can move toward becoming WWE Champion and make all of India glad," Mahal said in front of his title coordinate.

Mahal had a solid message for his skeptics after the match.

"I simply need to tell the WWE 'I disclosed to you so', I've been stating since I was the main contender and that the Maharaj will turn into the WWE Champion," he said.

"Guess what? It feels quite great and I anticipate telling the WWE universe I anticipate being the champion for a long, long time. So you better get accustomed to it. The Maharaj's rule has quite recently started."
