Get Ready To Travel From Mussoorie To Dehradun On World’s Longest Ropeway!

If you were thinking that the scenic hill station Mussoorie has lost its charm in recent years then think again as it will soon be connected via ropeway to the capital city of Dehradun. It is believed that this will also be the longest ropeway in the world. With its advent, the travel time between the two destinations will be cut down to 10 to 15 minutes. Isn’t that a great news?

Details Please..
The ropeway is being considered as one of the five longest ropeways in the world. The starting point of which will be connected to ISBT railway station and the airport in Dehradun. Also, this step is expected to improve the tourism in this area and of the hilly hamlet.

Talking about the facts, the ropeway will be 5.5 km long connecting the two destinations covering around 23 towers. Approximately 53 cabins or cable cars are being planned to run to and fro. The route shall cross Kyar kuli, Bhatta Village and ITBP.

What’s More
Besides everything else, the ropeway will also help curb pollution in the hill station. What earlier took you an hour and a half to reach Doon from Mussoorie, will now take you barely 10 minutes via ropeway. Well, that saves quite a lot of time and also adds to another adventurous trip right?

Another best part of this cable car is that it can operate both in rain and snow. So don’t worry if it rains or snows during your visit because they’ve got you covered. Also, just imagine how magical would be the view of the mountains covered with snow, and a chance to see that from the ropeway you are riding in!

The ropeway will also be instrumental in ending the parking woes that Mussoorie faces throughout the year and especially during peak season. Additionally, two parking slots near Jaypee Hotel and PWD office are also expected to be made that will ease parking hassles for locals and travellers.

The ropeway would be made on a public private partnership (PPP) mode where a French company would provide technical assistance. However, we’ll have to wait for good two to three years as this ambitious ₹300-crore project connecting Dehradun to Mussoorie will take some time.

So have some patience and wait excitedly to enjoy this adventurous ropeway ride, we are sure it will be worth it!
