New Delhi : Coronavirus-- a member of the Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus has spread across China, and neighbouring countries including Thailand, Hong Kong and India in last one week. The virus has left over 4,500 infected in China itself. As per reports, the number of people infected by the deadly virus has reached 4515. Cases in India are also on a rise and has left people in a panic. A total of 81 people had lost their lives due to the deadly virus by the end of Monday. Reports say, the deadly virus makes their way from animals to humans. 

 
 

Besides the above numbers, a total of 30,453 are currently under medical observation while 583 others were discharged on Sunday. In addition, 17 confirm cases had been reported in Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan, with eight in Hong Kong, five in Macao and four in Taiwan. Overseas, confirmed cases were reported in Thailand (7), Japan (3), the Republic of Korea (3), the US (3), Vietnam (2), Singapore (4), Malaysia (3), Nepal (1), France (3) and Australia (4).
 
Meanwhile in India, 2 Bengaluru residents who visited China are kept under medical supervision. A suspected case of Coronavirus has been reported in Bihar. She has been referred to Patna and will be kept under observation at PMCH.  Four suspected cases of the coronavirus (2019-nCoV) have been reported in Hyderabad. While two of their blood samples tested negative for the virus, the results of two others are still awaited.
 
What is Coronavirus and how it spreads?
 
Coronavirus is a large group of virus that are common among animals. It belongs to the SARS virus family. Usually these viruses infect the animals and very few strains are reported to affect humans. First reported in Wuhan, China it quickly spread to Beijing, Shanghai, Xinjiang, and now other countries.
 
It spreads when someone comes in contact with infected person's infections such as cough, sneeze and handsake. The virus can be also transmitted by physical contact. It can only be controlled by handling a patient's waste.
 
Symptoms:
 
Symptoms include running nose, fever, weakness, cold, sore throat that can last up to 48 hours. For those with weak immune system, there's a chance that the virus can lead to lower, and serious respiratory tract illness like pneumonia and bronchitis.
 

 
 

Precautions:
 
Cover mouth while coughing or sneezing
 
If infected, stay at home and avoid crowds or contact with others.
 
Wash hands frequently
 
Person with suspected symptoms should take proper precautions
 
Wear a mask
 
Special attention to children and elderly
 
Consult a doctor
 
Cure
 
As of now, there is no specific treatment for the virus. There is no vaccine to treat Coronavirus.
