Are you living your life waiting for the weekend?

Are you living your life waiting for the weekend?

How many of you are living for the weekend? How many of you are living for those delightful Saturdays and Sundays to show up? In my opinion, it’s actually unhealthy to keep waiting for those two days, all through the five working days.

Take a minute to think about how many days have you wasted waiting for the weekend?

This was me long back — I felt contented Friday evening, Yes the weekend is finally here. Sunday night, after I finished watching my favorite show, and entered a state of depression, and anticipated Monday with Monday blues. Can you relate? Well, I believe many of you can.

If the above sounds similar to you, then you are probably stuck. It’s is totally unfair to look forward to the weekend every day and by the time the weekend is done, then the longing for next weekend start.

Is this going to be your story for the rest of our life also? I stood up for my well being and now I don’t wait for the weekend to live a happy life. You should not be probably making such a separation between weekdays and weekends, instead just enjoy your life as a whole. Your work is part of your life, just realize that.

Stop worrying about Mondays

Lately, I have been making a really conscious effort to be careful about my morning talk to myself when I wake up. If I think “Oh God, it’s Monday”, I feel disgusted about my existence. And then I recognized, my morning thoughts describe my rest of the day. To overcome this, I make my morning mood by singing my favorite tracks or waking up to my favorite music and thinking all good I can. I instantly feel better. It really works for Monday blues as well. This is just the start, here’s how I tried to get myself out of the ugly routine of living for the weekend and it transformed the way I live. Let’s go.

Prioritize

Starting your day with clarity and purpose is a life-changing habit for all of us. I usually hate my working days when I have to struggle to complete my normal day to day responsibilities. We usually get distracted by dozens of unexpected emails, meetings, and calls that we never get enough time to manage our important tasks for the day. Therefore, prioritizing is not overrated. You can prioritize your tasks using a ProofHub app and make time for everything important.

Break the week up

It is quite perplexing to me when I see people reserving date nights for the weekend. Trust me, life will be so much pleasure if you start changing your reservations to relax and party. Yea, but surely do not keep it late night that makes it difficult for you to get back to work next day. If you save all the fun stuff for the weekend, the weekdays are definitely going to be dreadful. It’s really better to spread everything out throughout your weeks. So, plan a quick coffee after a meal, grab your favorite cuisine with your friends, or going to a spa in the middle of the week is one of the best ideas.

Make time for yourself

Find something you love doing at least once a day. Not everyone loves their job or the things they do daily and many other things that keeps us longing for the weekend. Make your life more diverse by picking what you love, go for a walk, read a book, do DIYs, get your nails done, or go see a show. Find joy in each day you have and in anything you do. You will feel good about where your time is being spent.

Stop in the middle of all the chaos and take a breath

Trapped in your own world of chaos, when was the last time you relaxed in contentment? In our day-to-day lives when we have a lot on our plate, we often find us amidst chaos. In this chaos, finding our inner calm becomes a challenge. The whole act of just pausing in the midst of all this frenetic activity, just five minutes of serenity will recharge you for the rest of the day, and lend you so much peace that you will start loving your every day.

TAKE STEPS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE — Stop counting down to the weekend

Hey — if you really hate Monday, if you really struggle to through every day of the week, then you probably really need a change. Stop counting down to the weekend. Take baby steps at the start to get where you want to be. Without waiting for the weekends to be happy, be present and enjoy today.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you until it seems that you cannot hold on for a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time when the tide will turn.
