New Zealand debutant Colin de Grandhomme breaks record, knocks out Pakistan

There is something about moustaches in take a look at cricket that brings out something special in cricketers. in the 2013/14 Ashes, Mitchell Johnson’s ‘Mo’ had such impact that his 37 wickets within the five take a look at collection allowed Australia to whitewash England 5-zero for the 0.33 time.
In 2016, Colin de Grandhomme, wearing a Johnson-like Moustache, created a piece of history of new Zealand on the second one day of the first check against Pakistan at the Hagley Oval. With the primary day being washed out due to rain, de Grandhomme stepped up and picked up figures of 15.five-five-41-6 to bowl out Pakistan for a paltry.
De Grandhomme’s figures had been the satisfactory-ever bowling figures through a brand new Zealand participant in checks, breaking Alexander Moir’s sixty five-12 months-old record of 6/155, which he achieved towards England at Lancaster Park in Christchurch in 1951.
De Grandhomme’s figures of 6/forty one are the second one nice by using a bowler towards Pakistan on debut, with South Africa’s Kyle Abbott taking 7/29 inside the Centurion test in 2013.
The proper arm medium pacer, who changed into born in Zimbabwe and had performed one ODI and 4 T20Is in 2012, exploited the conditions at Hagley Oval brilliantly. He generated top swing both off the wicket and inside the air to tear thru the Pakistan batting line-up.
He got his first check wicket in his 0.33 over when he bowled Azhar Ali for 15. He then struck two times in two overs by way of casting off Babar Azam for 33 and Pakistan’s top batsman Younis Khan for two.
He continued the good paintings with the aid of getting rid of Asad Shafiq for sixteen and wrapped up the tail fast by way of removing Sohail Khan (nine) and Rahat Ali (0).
Way to de Grandhomme’s efforts, New Zealand have a very good risk of triumphing a take a look at towards Pakistan after seven years.
