HPBoSE Class 12 results: Girls shine in arts, commerce; boys in science

Girls put up a stellar performance in the arts and commerce stream while boys dominated the science stream merit list in results of the Class 12 examination conducted by Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE) declared on Tuesday.

The overall pass percentage was 72.89% and results made available on HPBOSE’s website www.hpbose.org.

HPBoSE secretary Vishal Sharma said 1,02,075 students appeared in the examinations of which 73,948 passed, while 15,886 candidates got a compartment.

Results in record time

“The pass percentage has declined by 5.73% as compared to last year’s 78.62%,” said Sharma, adding that HPBoSE is the first board in the country to declare Class 12 result that too in a record time of just 25 days.

Sharma further said candidates who want re-evaluation or re-checking of their answer sheets can apply by depositing a fee of Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively till May 9.

Examinations were conducted between March 3 and 29 in 1,846 centres across the state.

Marred by controversies
