Jammu & Kashmir: Army Major & jawan killed in encounter with militants in Shopian
Two Army force, including a major, were killed when militants opened fire at a search party in South Kashmir's Shopian area in the small hours of Thursday. A fighter was additionally harmed in the shooting.
As per a cop, the episode happened after the Army propelled a cordon-and-search operation at Zaipora on Wednesday night. They had gotten intelligence inputs that a few militants were hiding there.
The militants started terminating even as the operation was being completed. "Three Army work force were fundamentally harmed, and must be hurried to the 92 base healing center. While two of them capitulated to their wounds, the third is as yet experiencing treatment," the officer included.
Endeavors are on to dispense with the militants.
In a related episode, two militants were slaughtered by security drives in another experience at Kulgam region's Gopalpora prior that morning. "One of the killed militants was engaged with the killing of five policemen and watchmen of a bank van at Phambai a couple of months prior," a police representative stated, including that two weapons have been recouped.
The militants' personalities are yet to be revealed.
