Anu Malik, the man of many controversies, has landed it in yet another row. This time, the popular Bollywood music composer has been accused of plagiarising Israel’s national anthem. The netizens just recently spotted similarities between the national anthem of Israel and Malik's song Mera Mulk Mera Desh from the film Diljale. The similarity came to light after Artem Dolgopyat made history, winning Isreal's first Olympics gymnastics gold. The country's national anthem - Hatikvah - was played while he was being awarded.
After the netizens heard Israel’s national anthem at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, many Twitter users thought that it sounded similar to Diljale's song Mera Mulk Mera Desh. Within no time, tweets accusing Malik of plagiarism flooded social media.
As for Mera Mulk Mera Desh, the patriotic song, released in 1996, was composed by Malik and sung by Kumar Sanu and Aditya Narayan. The video featured Ajay Devgn.
Twitter is currently flooding with memes and comments accusing Malik of plagiarism. This, however, isn’t the first time that Malik has been accused of lifting tunes from other industries. Here are a few instances when Malik was accused of plagiarism, or simply creating songs that were inspired by international songs.
His song Dil Mera Churaya Kyun from Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995) is plagiarised from Last Christmas by Wham! The song is picturised on Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala.

Another plagiarism row of Malik surrounds Raja ko Rani Se Pyar from the film Akele Hum Akele Tum. The song seems inspired by the theme song of Godfather (1972).

In a viral thread years ago, a Twitter user had also said that Malik had 'copied' the song Yaariyan of Junaid Jamshed.
In the same thread, Malik's song Aaja Maahiya from Fiza also turned out to be a copy. "Anu Malik ne tou Shazia Manzoor ko bhi nai Baksha..." read the tweet.
Malik's Neend Churayi Meri from the 1997 film Ishq has also been in the news for allegedly being copied. The song is allegedly a copy of Sending All My Love by Linear.

Many of Malik's other songs are also believed to have been lifted from international compositions. To name a few more, Hera Pheri's song Jab Bhi Koi Haseena Dekhu is allegedly copied from Mark Morrison's song Return Of The Mack, Nahin Jeena Yaar Bina from Chaahat is inspired from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's song, Love Hua from Jaanam Samjha Karo is inspired from Angelo's song, Brotherhood of Man.
Malik was also in the news for his controversial return to Indian Idol. The composer, who was accused of harassment amid the Me Too wave in the country, received flak online for returning as a judge on the singing-based reality show after he was ousted because of the allegations.
