Kulbhushan Jadhav, asserted Indian spy, sentenced to death in Pakistan

New Delhi: Kulbhushan Jadhav, the Indian national blamed for secret activities by Pakistan, has been granted capital punishment, it was declared here on Monday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said a Field General Court Martial granted the death penalty and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had affirmed capital punishment.

Jadhav was captured on March 03, 2016, in Balochistan after he entered from Iran on charges of being a R&AW specialist.

He has been blamed by Pakistan for arranging "subversive exercises" in the nation.

India has recognized Jadhav as a resigned Indian Navy officer, however denied the assertion that he was in any capacity associated with the administration.

Taking after is the official statement issued by the Pakistan military's advertising division:

"Rawalpindi - April 10, 2017:

Indian RAW Agent/Naval officer 41558Z Commander Kulbushan Sudhir Jadhav moniker Hussein Mubarak Patel was captured on March 3, 2016 through a Counter Intelligence Operation from Mashkel, Balochistan, for his inclusion in surveillance and harm exercises against Pakistan. The spy has been attempted through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and granted capital punishment. Today COAS, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed his capital punishment granted by FGCM.

Crude specialist Commander Kulbushan Sudhir Jadhav was attempted by FGCM under area 59 of Pakistan Army Act (PAA) 1952 and Section 3 of official Secret Act of 1923. FGCM discovered Kulbushan Sudhir Yadhav blameworthy of the considerable number of charges. He admitted before a Magistrate and the Court that he was entrusted by RAW to arrange, facilitate and sort out undercover work/attack exercises planning to destabilize and take up arms against Pakistan by obstructing the endeavors of Law Enforcement Agencies for reestablishing peace in Balochistan and Karachi.

The blamed was given safeguarding officer according to legitimate arrangements."

In March, Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, had told a Senate session that the First Information Report (FIR) on Jadhav was enrolled and a case was being readied.

India had in December 2016 requested quick consular access to Jadhav after Aziz apparently revealed to Parliament that the legislature had been given "deficient confirmation" against Jadhav.
