National Institutional Ranking Framework: IIT Ropar scores high on Outreach and Inclusivity

Chandigarh: IIT Ropar has made change in the parameter of Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) according to the India Rankings 2017 published conducted by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The establishment has been included among the main five new IITs according to the rankings.

Prof S K Das, Director, IIT Ropar stated, "We are cheerful to be a piece of the India Rankings 2017. We have been a piece of the top new IITs of the nation and this year once more, we are positioned third among the new IITs in generally and fifth in designing classification."

It is additionally gladdening to see the enhanced score in the Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) parameter, which exhibited our territorial differences, universal effort and also our emphasis on making a superior situation for ladies, monetarily and socially tested and in addition the physically tested understudies, he said.

Being positioned a respectable 21st in building and 32nd in general class of establishments in the nation is an accomplishment for an organization which is only nine years of age, he said.

IIT Ropar scored the best and has enhanced the most contrasted with a year ago in the parameter of OI, where it has boiled down to eleventh rank from 105th rank, a checked change from a year ago.

Begun in 2015-16, the National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) is an indigenous positioning system for higher instructive foundations in our nation.

The establishments are positioned under different parameters like instructing, learning and assets, research and expert practices, graduation result, effort and inclusivity and observation, premise which the rankings are formalized.

Indian Institutes of Technology are pinnacle foundations for building training and research. At present, there are 23 IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, Roorkee, Hyderabad, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Ropar, Jodhpur, Gandhinagar, Indore, Mandi, Varanasi, Tiruppati, Palakkad, Goa, Jammu, Dharwad and Bhilai.
