Prithvi-II : Ballistic missile successfully test-fired from Odisha's Chandipur
Balasore: India on Friday successfully test-fired Prithvi-II ballistic missile from the platform No.3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha's Balasore.
The missile was propelled at 10.56 am, as indicated by ANI.
The surface-to-surface medium-range ballistic missile is a joint activity of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL).
The main test-fire of the missile had been held in Chandipur on January 27, 1996.
The single-stage fluid fuelled Prithvi-II remains at a stature of 8.56 meters with a width of 110 centimeters and weighs around 4,600 kilograms.
The Prithvi-II missile, produced using aluminum compound and with its wings designed from magnesium, has been accepted into the 333-missile regiment of the Indian Army.
This rocket has the ability to convey a payload of up to 1,000 kg however in the event that the same was diminished significantly, the striking extent could be upgraded.
